Neuromorphic Computing: The Next Leap Toward Brain-Like AI

Exploring Neuromorphic Computing: Mimicking the Human Brain in Tech

People refer to a new computing paradigm as neuromorphic that is being developed over the past decade. It attempts to build systems with great complexity that mimic the neuristic operation of the human brain. In contrast to binary computing which operates in a linear fashion, artificial neurons and synapses that are components of neuromorphic computing can be leveraged to perform multiple processes in a parallel fashion and much more efficiently simulating the actions of the human brain.

With the advancement of technology, large companies and researchers are creating neuromorphic chips that may one day power complex utility objects such as self-driving cars or advanced machinery, allowing them to learn and evolve in a more natural way. Neuromorphic computing will not only enhance processing speed, it may also enable us to build AI systems that are similar to ours.
